The age ranges below are based on "league age" as defined by Little League, which may not be the same as your child's current age. How to determine league age also varies by program.
- For Teeball your child must be 4 by August 31 of the current year.
- For baseball, the league age is the age of your child on August 31 of the current year.
- For softball, the league age is the age of your child on December 31 of the prior year.

Caledonia Baseball Softball League offers the following divisions:

Teeball
Teeball (coed) Ages 4 - 5. Tees are used for hitting.
Baseball Divisions
Coach Pitch Boys Baseball Ages 6 & 7. Coaches pitch for hitting. Bases are 60 feet apart.
- Batters will swing until they get a hit, numbers of fielders and coaches interaction are flexible. This division of Coach Pitch is for recreation, with a lot of focus on development.
Coach Pitch+ Boys Baseball Ages 7 & 8. Coaches pitch for hitting. Bases are 60 feet apart. Practices begin in mid April.
- Batters will get 3 strikes or 4 balls. Batters will be encouraged to take 2nd base if the ball goes to the outfield, 9 players will be on the field, the coaches interaction will happen in the dugout, from the coaches box or when time is called. This division of Coach Pitch is competitive.
AA Boys Baseball Ages 9. Bases are 60 feet apart and pitching distance is 46 feet.
Kids will pitch all the games in this division; however, when Ball 4 is met the batting team's coach will take the mound until a hit is produced.
AAA/Minors Boys Baseball Ages 10 & 11. Bases are 60 feet apart and pitching distance is 46 feet.
Major Boys Baseball Ages 10,11,12. Bases are 60 feet apart and pitching distance is 46 feet.
Junior Boys Baseball Ages 13 & 14. Bases are 90 feet apart and pitching distance is 60 feet.
Senior Boys Baseball Ages 15+. Bases are 90 feet apart and pitching distance is 60 feet.
This division will participate in District 9 Team and ALL STAR Tournaments only, not the regular season of CBSL.
*NOTE: Boys ages 10-12 are registered in the Boys Little League division and drafted on either the Majors roster or placed onto a AAA team. Your child should attend the player evaluations to help determine which team he is best suited for. All 12-year-olds will be placed on a Boys Majors Team, and 10 & 11-year-olds will be placed in AAA if not selected for Majors.
Softball Divisions
Coach Pitch Girls Softball Ages 6 & 7. Coaches pitch for hitting. Bases are 60 feet apart.
AA Girls Softball Ages 7 & 8. Bases are 60 feet apart, pitching distance is 35 feet and they use an 11" diameter ball.
Kids will pitch all the games in this division; however, when Ball 4 is met the batting team's coach will take the mound until a hit is produced.
Minors Girls Softball Ages 9 - 10. Bases are 60 feet apart, pitching distance is 35 feet and they use an 11" diameter ball.
Major Girls Softball Ages 11 - 12. Bases are 60 feet apart, pitching distance is 40 feet and they use a 12" diameter ball.
Junior Girls Softball Ages 13 - 14. Bases are 60 feet apart, pitching distance is 43 feet and they use a 12" diameter ball.
*NOTE: The Little League division will be divided into Minors and Majors teams based on the number of players available Typically 9 and 10-year-olds will play in Minors and 11 and 12 will play in the Majors. There are some exceptions to this, though it is rare. Your child should attend the tryouts to help determine which team she is best suited for. Also, depending on the number of girls registered in the Little League division we may interleague for both majors and minors with other District 9 teams.
